How Much Are Benefits?

Your benefits depend upon how much you paid into the Social Security system during your working lifetime. For an estimate of these benefits at full retirement age, use the SSA retirement benefit estimator, check your statement online, or call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213. You can also get this information from a recent Social Security Statement received in the mail.

Please note that the estimated retirement benefits may overstate your actual benefits if, at some point, you worked for an employer (such as a government agency) who did not withhold Social Security taxes from your salary and you received a pension based on that work. If you think that you may fall into this category, you should read Windfall Elimination Provision (SSA publication No. 05-10045). And you should contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 for a more accurate estimate of your Social Security retirement benefits before you order an analysis from us. You may also want to use their WEP calculator to get an estimate of your Social Security retirement benefits.
